Paint our city Green
Dundee tops the charts of green Scottish cities - 41% of our city is dedicated to publicly accessible greenspace.
Eight of our parks have been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful.
Whether you’re chilling out in Magdalen Green or enjoying the activities in Camperdown Country park (they have a thriving wildlife centre too!), these vibrant community hubs are where you can relax, have fun, and boost your wellbeing.
If being active is your thing, Dundee’s 26-mile ‘Green Circular’ route is a popular choice. This scenic path loops around the city. Fresh air, exercise, all while soaking in the naturalbeauty that makes Dundee truly special… it’s the perfect combination.
The Eden Project Dundee is coming to Dundee and the venture has already contributed to the green spaces that exist in our city. In early 2022, we embarked on an exciting journey with them rolling out a planting program. 14 hectares of new wildflower habitats have been established with meadows springing up in places like Dawson, Lochee, Myrekirk, and Claverhouse as part of Eden’s commitment to enhancing our biodiversity.
These meadows aren’t just pretty to look at—they’re bustling ecosystems that offer recreation, outdoor play, and learning opportunities. Plus, they’re perfect spots to unwind and relax.
So come and experience Dundee’s green transformation for yourself. There’s plenty to explore, enjoy, and be part of in our thriving, eco-friendly city.
